Converting Number into Text in Microsoft Word

Here is a step-by-step technical guide to converting numbers to text in Microsoft Word:

  1. Open a new or existing document in Microsoft Word and type the number you want to convert into text.
  2. Highlight the number by clicking and dragging your cursor over it.
  3. Press the <ctrl> + F9 keys together to create a field code. This will add {} to the selected numbers.
  4. Within the field code, type an equals sign followed by the number you want to convert, and then type “\*CARDTEXT” at the end of the number. Do not include the quotes. For example, if you want to convert the number “123456”, your field code should look like this: {=123456\*CARDTEXT}
  5. Right-click on the field code and select “Update Field” from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, you can press the F9 key to update the field code.
  6. The number will now be converted into text and displayed in the document.

Output:

one hundred twenty-three thousand four hundred fifty-six
